Another sub frame question

Im going to buy subframe connectors tonight. I was going to buy ones that had the seatt supports on them but now I am second guessing myself about it. Do the seat supports on the subframe connetors really make that big of a difference. It would be nice if they didnt because that would save me about 50 bucks. I can get ones from summit for $63 without seat supports

I personally would do the thru-floor ones. the other ones that just weld on to the bottom of the car look extremely usless to me.

Well looks can and are decieving in this case. The ones that do not have the seat supports work just fine as long as they are welded on correctly.. Get those and save yourself 50 bucks.

I'd get the ones with seat supports. Check Laurel mountain for a awesome deal on the ones with seat supports. They keep your floor pan from sagging and also provide a stronger seat attachment if you are ever in an accident. The simple weld on ones do make a big difference in rigidity, it will be immediately noticeable, but the thru floor ones are better, but a shit load more work to install!

+1 Unless you had a SSP, which you obviously don't, because they have reinforced floor pans. Like Stangzilla said though they will be fine without them if you aint got gobs of power and you're not a really big boy.

Thanks, that thing looks nice. Even comes with nhra approved loop. I might look into that one myself.

I agree. I only do thru floor connectors now with either 2x2 or 2x3 tubing. I don't mess around with the junk that they sell that welds to the bottom of the front and rear frame rails. They don't do much besides add some weight.

I use bolt on connectors, then have them welded on, provides more area to weld. I don't bother with th thru the floor pieces, using reguler weld on sub-frame connectors make a huge difference on your average car. If it was a full blown race car then I would say go with the more expensive and more elaborate installation.

There is the chance your body is not straight. Hopefully you just got a bad pair or they shipped the wrong part number for your car.
