Started the winter project

Hey guys, well I Finally got some time to start working on my Notch recently, and figured I'd post what I have going.
Original plan was to upgrade to a blower, but after pricing it out, I've set my goal of hitting 11.99 with a 306 N/A setup. Also acompanied with an engine bay clean up and wire tuck.

It all starts by opening the hood

Stripped down the inner fenders

Then got carried away and pulled the engine to make my life easier

And since it was out, I'm thinking about just touching up the top end.

I've swapped my injectors to 47# EV6 (Before deciding to stay N/A) but the 6 pintle design should help me out in fuel atomization. Plan on the Pro-M 80MM MAF, Drop in a 255lph fuel pump, have TMOSS port my lower GT40 intake, switching to electric fan, Having my Windsor JR heads milled, Battery to trunk, A/C delete, and ditching my lowering springs for drag springs and shocks. Also will be getting my stock computer tuned to make sure my engine's running optimum.

Only thing I dont have lined up is what to do for a CAI, since I sold my C&L 75mm thinking I was still going with a blower.

Looks good! I hid the wires not too long ago. Looks like your getting ready to weld the holes! I want to do that sooo bad but I think I will have to wait until spring.

Your 11.99 goal is attainable with your current setup. 110mph is good for an 11.8 with good traction.

Was able to get a hour or so further on the car tonight. Took out the front swaybar mounts and finished prepping everything for Welding Next week.

The front mounts were heavier than they seemed, a lot of metal there. Also Ditched the Cruise control module, evap canister, A/C compressor, and washer reservoir. Should Lighten up the front a bit.

Time for a chrome moly k-member to drop another 70 lbs.
I went the aftermarket panel route instead of welding the holes.
Excited to see the progress.

From the research I've done, the K-member only drops roughly 45lbs I believe was the number. It would be a great addition nonetheless. I ordered ScottrodFab's panels that should be shipping this week. I just decided to weld the holes as well, to help prevent moisture from getting in between the panels

Scotts panels are nice. I went with the factory style smooth panels.
UPR drops 70lbs most others drop 45. It's because they use chrome moly and others use mild steel.

You might want to research the product you are selling a little more before you make a claim like that. My whole 10 pt. cage is only about 40 lbs lighter being made from chrome moly instead of mild steel. And 'others' offer a chrome moly version too.

This info comes directly from UPR reps. From what I am told by the manufacture is mild steel k-member kits such as QA-1 drop roughly 40lbs and UPR's k-member Kit drops approx 70lbs. This is the whole kit including springs so there is weight savings there to.

I'll weigh all the parts of a kit this week if someone wants to get the weight of everything stock that it replaces.

Sorry to OP I don't want this thread going in another direction.

Im guessing his plan was to do some sort of a power adder, but then he changed his mind and plans to stay n/a..

Don't get me wrong, since I have UPR rear suspension and I plan to use their front end kit, I like their products but I think your reps are embelishing a little, lol. After you weigh all the parts you can send them to me, and in lieu of payment, I will then weigh all my factory parts and send info to you as payment

I was going Blower, but ran short of funds this year, but I already bought the 47#'s. But they are EV6 style so I will get better fuel atomization with them compared to the EV1 style. So there is an improvement.

Also I'd love to go K-member, but wouldnt I have to change to coilovers up front? Thats roughly $700 for a kit like that. Pretty expensive

700 is actually cheap compared to many of the others. I just purchased a tunch of other stuff worth way more, but it's next on the list. You can purchase undividual parts, but if you are going to go, you should go all out.

thats false there are some companys making k members w/ a arms for stock springs with spring perches..not so popular but there around...i paid $650 for my team z k member kit through corral...mild steel is 10X better than chromemoly for a car that is going to see the street often. chromemoly is flexible, the team z metal matrix is a mix of mild steel AND chromemoly. the main tubes are mild steel for cost and regitity but connection points and plates are chromemoly for less weight and strength...

btw watch out for UPR suspension...trust me i ended up doing things twice..upr first..team z second...ill never go back...upr seams like a good deal...but in the end..not worth it

my k member kit came in with k member, a arms, coilovers and caster camber plates....weighed 33lb's...the stock k member by itself with no arms weighed about 45lb's...i can see about 40/50 max weightloss
