8.8 strength?

Alright, so im lazy. I know its been covered but oh well..
What kind of power has someone put down with a stock 8.8? Its just not in my budget this year to have my diff built. Only thing its going to get is a new yoke and a girdle. Axles and a center section will have to wait. Car is an auto.

Brett.

My coupe made 488 to the wheels for 3+ years and I never had any issues. Launched at 6k on slicks LOTS of times. Stock axles and everything.

Sounds good to me! What kind of 60's Termi?
The rear diff is 8.8, 4.10 ford racing gears, girlde, and yoke.
Motor should be an aluminum headed 347 on the spray. Ill have to see how the car likes it (not a fox) on the motor first. Probably going to be pushing it a little on the spray, might spray around the 60' mark.

I have no idea what you all are talking about..

A stock mustang with a sticky tire can snap a stock axle..

I know cause I have done it.. If you havnt.. then your pussy launching your shit.. Grow balls and put a sticky tire on rev up to 5000+ and sidestep that clutch.. that where you see 1.6 60fts..

you can have as much power as you want.. but if you have a sticky tire and a stock 8.8 your asking for it to break.

I knew i wanted to upgrade mine to 31 spine.. so i just waited till mine broke and swaped parts later that week. 31 spline on the other had should take up to well over 800HP.

Alright thanks for the info Notch.
I have no idea how my car is going to leave. Old tired leafs and burnt out bushings.
Trying to figure out roughly where the car should be with the hp goal, weight, gears and radials. E.t wise i'd think the 11's for sure.

Run down. 4.10's. 275's 3000# with me in it. Aluminum headed 347+ with 150 shot. Poor thing is going to twist up like a can.

Brett.

I can give you at least 10 examples that say we do know what we're talking about. Example 1 was in the video above, and that was done on 4 lugs. Just because you had bad luck doesn't mean you should come in and say we don't know what we are talking about. A good friend on mine has been 9.50s on a stock rear, but I'm sure either he was being a pussy, or your shit was much faster

Oh and a 1.6 60' is fucking weak, on slicks.

Lol....
Well being that your car is probably heavier, so you may want to upgrade to 31 splines to be safe, but I still say there's a good chance you'll be fine on stock stuff.

I think if I can get the power down and get a decent convertor car should be in the 11's no problems. On the spray looking for 600 at the crank.

No doubt, the guy that tunes my car has a v6 bodied new edge with a built 331 and turbo launching with a trans break with the factory 7.5 rear end lol. He cringes each time he goes to launch. But ive seen numerous passes from the 8.8 on high horspower cars with d/s.

Well there will only be one way to find out! Its all gonig to come down to how buisness does this year, still got ALOT of stuff on the "to buy" list before I even think about driving the car. Hard to say if it will actually see the track this year unless 5000$+ falls into my lap.
