1985/1986 5.0 serial numbers

I have a 1986 AC MKIV Cobra that was built and completed in England, February 1986. Please provide me with the last serial number in 1985 so that I can find out if I have an 85 or 86 engine. Also, please tell me where the serial number is located on the block and if the 85 serial numbers are different that the 86s (ie: added or changed letters).

What is the difference between the 85 /86 pistons and compression?

No such thing as a 85 or 86 cobra.....it was just an out of country designation , i believe. Most likely all you have is a gt....

85 is carb and 86 is fuel injected. 85 has a smaller rear end and the exhaust sytem runs into a y pipe and then splits back off into two tail pipes. The 86 has the 8.8 rear end and has true dual exhaust all the way back

I am asking about the engines not the cars. Yes, I have a 1986 AC Cobra MKIV built in England. Number 131 out of 386 built. The Real Thing. No F in kit car!
