Can't make up my mind, ugh!

Alright, I can't make up my mind whether I should buy and finance a 96-98 Cobra with some mods already done to it, OR if I should just keep my 95 GT and just put all of my Trick Flow parts on it. I still have about $1000-$1100 left of stuff to buy for the build to be complete. I do not really want to spend that much money. I love the 4v motors and although i do like the 5.0, I think it's outdated, obd1. I also love the sound the 4v cobra motors make. I know when I put on the Trick Flow parts that I should have around 350hp but I'm afraid that with the car going up in the mileage, currently at 74,300, that stuff will begin to break. My car is still having a little trouble with rpm's sticking and suddenly dies, but doesn't do it as much, I think its the fuel pressure regulator. Tell me what yall think, should I keep my car and put the parts on, or get a lower mileage Cobra and finance it?

I myself, considered getting a cobra, that's when I realized I was a foxbody guy.
Getting the Cobra is probably not be cheaper than $1000-$1500 left in parts to finish that one up.
I'd say complete that one, then sell it and buy your cobra if you really want it..

It sounds like you already have your mind made up....

I wouldnt finance a car thats only 1-3 years newer then a car that you already have, not to mention 1998 is the same body as the one you already have....just a different drive train.

Just save up some cash and put a cobra body kit on.

This may be a different story if you were buying a really new mustang with a warranty that lasted a few years. My vote is to finish the car you have....

I can tell you from the experiance of rebuilding my son's 97 Cobra front to back, that the Cobra is way, way more expensive to work on over a pushrod motor. Although my son's Cobra turned out pretty cool, mostly stock with 03/04 Cobra rods & pistons, BBK long tubes, & a Vortech S-trim, the car made 446 to the wheels and got 20 mph easily. Extremly fun to drive, but if you can't do the work yourself it will be expensive!

normally a bank won't finance a car that old. you would have too do a personal loan for the amount and it's higher interest. been there done that.

edit: oh and I vote build your GT

Even though it's not running right, I would build what you have. 74,000 miles is not high mileage for a '95. $1100 for parts that you can save for as you go is smarter to me than accruing another car payment, if you're not paying on a note now.

I think I'm going to finish up my car and maybe sell it after a few months, idk yet bro..I wanted a cobra ever since I bought my car but didn't have the extra money at the time, and HAD to have that GT lol just like a kid being impatient. I found this one: 98 Mustang Cobra convertible (Super Clean) and i emailed the guy, gonna text him also to make sure its not a scam..might be one of those, too good to be true, but usually scammers but those one sentence descriptions of the car, but this one has a shit load about it and goes into much detail

sorry for late reply, was watching that Saints game, can't believe my Saints lost

You said earlier that you weren't the biggest fan of white convertibles, but then that is what that car is. Sounds like you are settling again, and won't be happy in the long run. Also, you talked earlier of an 08.?.?.? I think you don't really know what you want, so you should just be patient and finish what you started and go from there. Around here, banks will finance older cars, but once it's so old, they want 30% down, and the interest rate is 9.9% at lowest.
