Thinking about nitrous

I have a Complete nitrous kit just siting here in the garage So I looked at my 5.0 and said yup your next. mods I have E cam, motor freshened up about 9 months ago with stock Crank, Keith black Forged pistons, I got a new T-5 about 2 months ago. So I am reading that the stock 5.0 can take a 150 shot I beleive that is where I will start. The 410 gears are giving way to something else they tack out way to high in 4th so I would like to run the 1/4 with a gear good enough to just redline at 4th with the Nitrous.

I run 373's on my 306 with bolt-ons N/A with 26" tires and hit the 1/4 in 4th gear about 5900rpm at the light shifting at 6k. I know tire size size with affect your gear ratio so you must factor that into your set-up. Not knowing how much 150shot would affect rpm at 1/4 mile, I'd say you might get away with 373's and 28" tires.

I have thought about going to 3:55 gears.

355's with a 26" tire might be the winning ticket for you. I've never had anything on the strip other than my 373's so I can't totally confirm that setup.
