Gears??
Ok guys i am hopeing to get some good feedback from you supercharged guys on a gear choice? I am getting ready to buy gears and am stuck between 3.55s and 3.73s??
My car now has stock motor with a Kenne Bell and some other bolt ons. In the next year or so it will be getting a new heart. I am currently running the stock 3.08s. I was thinking the 3.73s but i dont know if that would be to much gear after i get the new combo in? Thanks!

Not sure whats the best choice for your set up.
I plan on the same thing, im thinking of going 3:73, but im going to do more research before i make my final choice......my point of posting, is i have 3:55 brand new still in the box, that i may be selling, not 100% sure yet, so if you go 3:55, hit me up before you buy them, if i decide to sell, ill cut a few bucks off and take a loss.

Depends on where you want to go in the future...But I'd say 3:73s. My car is probably just as fast if not a little faster than your car and I have 3:73s currently...they're awesome for daily driving and are a big difference from 3:08s.

Ok ryan I will get at ya if i do go with the 3.55s thanks! I think either way it will be a pretty big difference from the 3.08s. I am kinda thinking bout goin with 3.73s. The only reason why i don't is cause I do road trip in the car but the amount of rpms at highway speed won't be that much diferent between the two. And it wild be nice to have that lil more pull of the 3.73s!!

you say supercharged as if it is generic (and i know you specified it was a kenny bell) but even though they work in the same manner a kenny bell makes power in a different range than a vortech. that being said, I would probably recommend th 3.73 for the KB and 3.55 for the Vortech because that build boost with RPM and it will allow it to wind out a little more.

I road trip in my car too and I have 3:73s. It's not a big deal on the highway at all.

3.73’s and aluminum drive shaft. Seems the aluminum drive shaft just doesn’t get the props it deserves.

I honestly think you are better with a 3.27 or 3.55 because it picks up so much torque down low. A guy at a car show once said he went to a 3.08 because he felt that the blower like to 'work'. I honestly would make a call to Kennebell to see what their input is. Of all these answers, I'm sure no one has one. And my answer is someone else's opinion of his combined with my own theory.

I would do 3.55 or 3.27 just because that kb makes power down low. If you get 3.73 you're just gonna blow the tires off and it's gonna be useless. You wanna pick a gear that goes with your combo and a kb with 3.73s is just dumb IMO. If you had a centri blower like a vortech or procharger then 3.73s would be good because you would need all the rpms.

I have a vortech V3 at about 5psi, with 3.73's, on a 5 speed. It spins 1st and 2nd all day with my POS street radials. I'm getting stickier tires to run on the street this spring - should help. I went from 3.08's too, and it is sooo much more fun to drive now. Really, a big difference. The higher rpm's at highway doesn't bother me, though it is noticably spinning faster, just a different exhaust tone, no big deal. Just my experience. Either way, 3.55 or 3.73, you'll love the gears.
