EFI setup vs carb setup

I am currently running an EFI setup with a Vortech S-trim ive had the car for years and feel like its never ran up to its potential. Ive had the car tuned by professionals and still feel like its missing something. I was thinking of going to a carb setup (still using the s-trim) for the simplicity factor and also to clean up the engine bay. Im just looking to see if anyone has a setup like this. what issues do you have, how streetable is it, am i crazy for wanting to get rid of fuel injection. Any info would be appreciated. thx

For what it's worth for years of DD a carb setup I have been wanting to switch to EFI. Cold starts in the winter and the car wanting to die if not warmed up for a while. Sticky carb linkages on occasion, constant carb adjustments depending on brand. But i'm sure to each his own. Other times I love the simplicity of my carb and other times I like easy start ups of the EFI. Which those are factors due to my car not just in general. In your situation i'd keep the EFI, but its whatever you want to do most.

Cool

You say you feel that your setup is performing to its full potential? What is your setup maybe there is a weak link that is keeping you from making more power and also how much power are you making.

I'd have to agree with mustang boy on this one. Maybe the full potenial could be somewhere in your setup. I doubt it would be anything to do with your fuel setup

Any opinions on what kind of EFI setup it would take to give the same top end as a RPM Perfromer with a 650 DP?

sorry about the lack of reply. my laptop got a virus and i had to get it worked on.
here is my setup.
DSS 306 low comp short block
AFR 185 heads
1.7 rockers
holley system max upper and lower
42lb injectors
80mm MAF calibrated to injectors
75mm accufab tb
PA c4 trans 3800 stall
3:55 gears
Vortech S-trim
The car dynoed at 450hp 430ftlbs. However the best et ive gotten was 11.2 at 127 mph
with a terrible 60ft of something like 2.2. there was no wheel spin the car just did not launch. This car has been sitting for about 6 years and im just getting back into it i guess getting married building a house and having kids does this. im sure everyone claims they have the best carb but from Pro Systems claims how perfect there blow thur carbs are. So i dont know im still debating

That's enough MPH to get deep into the 10's. 2.2 60ft and no wheelspin is a serious issue with that combo. Is it bogging off the line? Convertor flashing properly?

Pro system blow through carbs are not that great. Patrick's normal carbs are though.

If you are serious, talk to Kevin at CSU carbs. Your also gonna need a new different fuel system.

sorry about that i knew i was going to forget something, its an F-303.
yes i know i will need a different fuel system and thx i will give csu a call.
Fogged306: yea the car kinda just bogged down and then took of like crazy. as far as the convertor flashing properly im not sure i never checked it and cant right now because im currently swaping the motor into another car because like a young dumb kid about 8 or 9 years ago when i started building this car i gutted the interior and caged it. and now im putting it into a car i just bought with a very nice interior and straight body.

Thats how that combo should run, better than most actually. With that being said, the carbed deal will just make it shittier.
