Injectors

I was curious what everyone was using for the f/i applications. I have been able to find a few cheap sets of 42lber's. I just wasn't sure if these were big enough or if i should go with 60's. I have a vortech V1-S Trim with a 2.85 pulley. I am looking to shoot for about 450 rwhp. Right now i have an intake fuel pump that flows around 300 lph.

intake fuel pump? In-tank you mean? That should be enough pump and 42's should be enough injector to meet your goal. However, if you plan on building more power in the future the 60's may not be a bad idea if you can swing them. I always prefer to run as low duty cycle on injectors and pump as I can, within reason.

IF I MAY INTRUDE UPON YOUR POST.... I WANTED TO KNOW WHAT DO I NEED FOR MY CARS COMPUTER TO MAKE THE INJECTORS PERFORM AT THERE RATED SPECS BECAUSE I THOUGHT ALL YOU HAD TO DO WAS CHANGE THEM AND THEY WILL FLOW WHAT THEY MADE FOR BUT I WAS WRONG THERE SO WHAT DOES THE COMPUTER NEED TO TELL THEM INJECTORS TO RUN LETS SAY 24LBS?

If your car has a MAF, you need a MAF sensor calibrated to the injector size. That alone should get it running right. However, you need a tune to take full advantage of both the injectors and new MAF sensor.

If its stock, then its your computer thats programed for 19lb injectors. If you upgrade to 24lb then you need to get a maff thats calibrated for 24lb or get the car tuned by a dyno shop, they can go into the cars computer and set it up for the 24lb

All a calibrated maff does is trick the computer into thinking it still has the 19lb in, so any time your not using the stock injectors, you need the calibrated maff to put things right, or the tune, like i already mentioned

What are your modds, cuz 19lb injectors are good to about 270 hp

If your not making that much power then your wasting your money

I have an exhaust, cam, upper and lower cobra intakes, shorty headers down to an H-pipe through Flows, it has a aftermarket MAF but it has the factory sensor, and Ford Racing heads soon to be installed

To the OP, a few years back I built a ProCharged 5.0 93LX for my son and we used the FRPP green top 42's with a Walbro 255 in tank pump & Kirban FPR, all stock fuel lines. The car made 446 @ the wheels with plenty of fuel. You should have no problem with your goal.

I assume you have the C&L maf meter by the way you explained that. I would ditch that POS when you get different injectors and go with a quaility maf meter that has it's own electronics and doesn't use the factory ones. Too many variable to make that work good. Trust me, been there.

That is the answer I was looking for. I would love to put 60lbs on with plans to go for bigger numbers... however bigger numbers mean I am going to need an aftermarket block that won't split under all the power. Thank You.

With your set up if you go any bigger then 24lb , you will need a tune regardless of a calibrated maff....you will run rich
