In the market once again

Howdy gents and ladies,
I am once again in the market for a Fox. I found a nice one on CL, and wanted to ask the experts here some things. The car is here in Cali, but has had all the cats removed (the car is from Tennessee). If I buy the car I will have to put cats back on it. How much will this cost? I have been told that the stock setup on the Fox has 4 cats, and that they range in price from $300-$600 EACH. That is, at the cheapest, $1200.00 + whatever labor will be.

The car is nice, has a few dents and a few spots of paint missing on the bumpers. It has a Saleen spoiler, and a 2 1/2" cowl hood (not sure if I like it yet or not), but all in all the body and paint are a "B" i would say. It is also registered in TN, so I would have to register it in Cali, so about $200 there as well. The guy is asking $4000.00 for the car, but I think with the work needed, that may be a bit costly. What do you all think?

Getting a high flow cat pipe seems like an easy fix. around 400 bucks and you're done. Put it in yourself. Or you can always find a stock mid pipe. I'm sure you'd find one somewhere out there.

Im not 100% on this, i think california want you to have all 4 cats, since it came with 4. Even if it passes with two they could vail you on the visual. Im only running to cats, but i have yet to try and smog it this way. My advice is to buy a used stock 4 cat h pipe off of craigs list and hold onto it just for smog.

I would make sure that the cats are the only smog equipment he took off.

Id also try looking at california fox bodys, i dont think we charge as much for ares, i see so many other states charging an arm and a leg for them due to the fact that they rust out in places wgere they salt the roads and theres not that many to choose from. But here in california, most of the time there in great shape other then hack jobs people do to them, so we have a lot more of them
