Hey guys i was wondering do you think my car would beat a Trans Am it's a 88 with a 400Sb and i have a 5.0 mustang with 373 gears with a lunati cam and new intake and carb it has like 350 hp.

If your a really good driver and hes a really bad driver yeah you can win.

No you should be able to give him a good run dont know if you will win or not it would be close

ya those things are way faster than you think ...my brother made 330 to th wheels in his 88 5.0 s/c and it barely beat one that had exhaust

your gonna have to give way more info on both cars for a good answer.

Well I'm a pretty good driver and i have a 4spd and he has an automatic with stock 308 gears soo i think my chances are good and there's a grand on the line so i'm gonna win or blow the car tryin.

depends whats done to it. a guy i know has a 400 small block and 700r4 in his 86 camaro and i ripped that car a new asshole while i was on street tires with my stock motor car.

If you are as good a driver as you are a mechanic you should be alright. Anybody that can squeeze 210 hp out of a cam, intake and carb change can work on my car anytime. Just tell him that his shoe is untied then yell go!! It will work trust me, he is driving a Pontiac.

400sb didnt come in the TAs in 1988. It could have 600 rwhp for all we know.

Yeah, they came with 5.0's and the GTA came with a 5.7. If it is a stock 2 barrel 400 sb you got him beat. They were rated at 265 hp. But like he said, it aint a stock motor for that car so it could have 600 hp.
