I think I'm getting ready to start another build

I'm not 100% positive my engine will survive this year, and I've got a little set back for future plans. I think by June, I can have enough to get a shortblock thrown together for what I want to do. I want to try and do a build where I can make a lot more power, and be a totally streetable. I want to be able to get in it, and drive it anywhere, anytime, and at highway speeds.

Before I bought this C4, I wanted to do a Lentech AOD, but after I researched it a little, I found that it would be cheaper to buy this badass C4, and spend the $2400 for a gear vendors for it. The AOD was expensive to begin with, but the headers, bellhousings, and all that crap would just add to it. So anyways, now I have a good transmission, and with the gear venders, I get my highway cruising. I cruise the car on the highway all the time as it is, but overdrive is just that much better.

For a powerplant, I think I can have a Dart block, and a Crower billet rotating assembly put together by June or July. I want to top it off with a big set of highports, since I'll have to have custom headers made anyway, for the turbo . With 450 CID, with the highports, and low boost, I figure I can easily, and safely make 600+, and then swap tunes and fill it up with C16 and make ??????????

My pocketbook says to just do a blow thru setup, but with the large amount of money I will have in this, I will likely look into a fuel injection setup. It would be better on may levels, especially for swapping tunes. If my current setup makes it thru this year, it would be great, so it will give me more time to get this done. I have set a goal to have it ready for the start of 2014, but if the 408 grenades before then, it will expedite it.

I just think my old turd would be awesome rolling around with a lot of power on tap, with a streetable setup, and overdrive. It makes decent power now, but I'm looking at a different level with this build.

So right now I'm in a dilemma with my fun fund I have set back. Dart block, and Crower billet crank and rods, or a lift for my shop?? Hmmmmmmmmm

Spray the car this season and build the turbo motor next winter. No way your motor cant handle a 200 shot. Gtfo lol

I am spraying it this year, but I'm building this engine too. It's not something I can build over one winter. If I start it now, I can run the current engine this year, and if it survives, I'll do rings and bearings over the winter, and spray it again next year too, and then hopefully have the turbo motor ready to go by the end of next year.

That is a tough decision right there... If you do a used 2 post rotary, you should be able to pick one up for 2k or less. I know a guy that's got two of them for sale for 2k or best each and I've seen them go for less on CL.

What Dart you gonna go with, IE or SHP?

I couldn't tell you the condition, I don't have the money to spend on one so I never bothered to go look at them in person. One of my customers that owns a limo company is going to pick one of those up for his garage and he's pretty anal and cheap, so I have to assume it's in pretty good condition for the price, lol.

I'm guessing they're up in NY? I can get a new rotary for $3200 shipped.

Yea somewhere out near Rochester I believe (western part of the state near lake ontario). I haven't looked into new ones, but I was always under the impression that they were 4k new for the lift alone. If they're only 32 shipped, I'd do that for piece of mind instead of a used one. Shit I'll probably go that route when I do have the extra cash for a lift if that's the case.

Any reason on the cubes? Dart 363 with high ports with the right cam can do 1000hp very easy.

Well, we are buying 6 of them. My buddy that's doing my cage started a thread on YB this morning looking for a better deal, but I think the hookup he already has is about as good as we are going to see. He just built a 100X70 at his house, and he needs a few to fill the bays.

Why not take the cubes if everything is going to be new? The cost difference is minimal.
