Twisted Wedge heads are amazing. I bought my first set 14 years ago for my son's 87 Notch bracket racer. It had a 72 351w, stock crank & rods, cheapo KB hyper pistons, Comp XE284 hydro flat tappet, out of the box TW 170's, Vic Jr., 750 Holley, C4 w/ used unknown stall, 3.73's. Car ran a 11.23 @ 118. Car now has a 427w, TEA 185 TW's, Isky solid roller, same intake, trans, rear end, etc. run's 6.55 @ 103 1/8th mile. Althouh the heads are kinda small for his combo, he bought them used for $900 bolted them on 5 years ago and has ran consistant ever since!

^^^ That's pretty impressive for stock TFS170s and mild supporting mods..

The Fox Lake heads you're getting should help that thing move!

Sounds like a nice build, I'll be looking forward to see how well it runs.

I dont know what they were thinking when they went to the bubble glass, cuz it was a good looking car till they did that.

They must have been purposely trying to kill the capri off

Chicken..... They don't salt there in ND, though do they? I heard that they didn't. My Tahoe is black, with a shit ton of white salt residue all over it

They actually started mildly salting here a couple years ago(bastards). Pretty soon most of our cars will look like Minnesota's(rusty!) My Explorer has a white haze on it right now.

Yea that's very impressive.
I'll make sure to build a combo with those heads in the near future.
I'm hoping I can get low 12s outta my current combo.

The motor in your sig should be good for close to mid 11's. The motor in my Capri now is a 114,000 mile 89 HO short block w/ Comp XE266HR, out of the box TW 170's, RPM air gap, 650 Quick fuel carb, 89 5.0 T5 trans, 3.73 gears. Only got the the 1/4 mile once last year and the first time out it ran 12.36 @ 109. I was very impressed with the old high milage motor!

The only reason I don't think I'll hit 11s is cause I got the bigger 72cc AFRs so that mid next year I can put a small amount of boost and hopefully get 450-475 whp..
So if it runs 12.30s NA, I'll be happy..
Oh and I'm aiming for that on my 18" Fr500s

Yup. Lol.
I'll just save these for a future turbo build. Im ordering the 58cc
Along with new gaskets lol. Gonna swap for a systemax 2 or rpm2 intake too.
Hopefully get near 380whp...

Why didnt you go trick flow 185...

How old are those afr 185 that your taking off ? You should just sell em, in stead of letting them collect dust

Well when I pieced it together I ha my mind set on an s trim.
So I ordered the probe pistons that accept on stock style heads. Trick flows won't work cause of the angle.
Ive only fired up the car few times since I put everything together. I bought em brand spanking new.
