A sad sad day!
So I just sold my 1992 mustang. Its time to get a more of a family/outdoors car. Im thinking of a Jeep. If you had to get a car other then a mustang, that was a 4x4, what would it be?

Lol..with the suggestions in this thread, I'm thinking you may want to toss a budget out.

Im guessing you probably are on a buget and not going to drop 20-30-40k on the vehicles listed above although they are nice and the raptor is sick but I would recomend an explorer or a cherokee. Depending on personal preferance, if you may want to do some off roading get a cherokee they are pretty cheap and basic and the 4.0 runs forever, if you want comfy a better equiped get an explorer or grand cherokee. Explorers can be had for cheap money so probably the best choice if you are on a buget. Or even a chevy blazer but persoanlly I think those are ugly

had a 1995 f150 4 door short bed 4x4 with the 4.9L inline six, it had 140 on it when i got for $900, sold it with 195 on original motor and tranny. got 20 MPG on the highway and would haul anything. pretty good in the mud too.

A Pathfinder is another good choice and can be found with a manual transmission more easily than an Explorer or Blazer. Cherokee would be my second pick after the Nissan.

For me personally, I'd get a 4.6l 4x4 2008+ Explorer Sport Trac. The only thing holding me back is they are priced too high to be a good value. I already have a utility trailor so the small bed and decent sized inside would be the best of both worlds between an Exploder and an F150. I have a Ford Freestlye/TaurusX and I love that thing for a general purpose vehicle. I just sold my Bronco and got an Exploder but neither I'd consider roomy. That Bronco was a beast off road with 33 mud tires but not a comfortable family hauler

My vote is for a 3 or 4 door toyota truck...those things last for ever, with low maintenace cost, and get good mpg
