Yeah, If I would have been on and saw that you were running it, I would have been all over it. I'm a huge anti c&l guy after my experience. I'm usually the first to bad mouth them on here. I tried the whole clocking thing years ago after reading about them on the web, but it was so frustrating that I said fuck it. I listed it on ebay and it went for over 100, but the guy never paid, and never got around to relisting it.

Well, I got the O2 sensors in the mail yesterday and just replaced them just now (FYI, it was a SCREAMING deal on eBay - both for $46 shipped - and they are genuine Bosch, she has more just do a search!). I pulled my old ones out and they look fine, I am sure they were ok, but new ones for that price don't hurt I suppose.
I don't have time to drive it around right now but I will this week. Saturday is a dyno day with the guys at work and they all worship 4 cylinder's in all their glory. I can't wait! Once I get the charcoal canister swapped I will update about the smell and see if that did the trick.

Yes indeed sir. They showed yesterday but I wasn't home to grab them from the postal worker. I went today and picked them up. I am so happy! (Easily entertained however) Thanks again dude, you are a life saver!
If I crack 225 to the rear I would be happy. I know not to expect anything exciting, but it is always a fun thing to do, nonetheless. I put down 193.x with headers alone on a 95 degree day last time on this dyno, so the CAI, manifold, TB, a GOOD (non C&L!!) MAF, electric fan, working FP, and slight bump in FP may help a bit. Again, not expecting the world... The news is saying I may have about a 70 degree day for the runs, so that may help more than anything I've done lol!

Another cheap thing that you could do for easy HP is a set of march power and amp series underdrive pulleys. I had no charging issues with mine on my car and none with the other set that I had on both an f150, and a bronco. (Sold that set already, None extra lying around, lol) Best 70 bucks I've ever spent, but now they run 82 bucks at jegs and summit. I would say 225 is doable for sure.

Fast- my car came with UDP's and I had cooling issues out the wazoo. In the end it was the fan clutch, but changing the pulley to stock sure helped. I know there is power to be had there, but when I do the power portion I will do it in a bigger fashion I think.
Ryan- I haven't driven it much yet. I am on hour 15 working right now today and that's a typical day (gotta love salary!). I drive a (don't throw things at me) Prius (hey, they gave me a gas card and never question me a bit) 1000 miles a week for work so I really only get to play with the Mustang on weekends. Weekends I am not working that is! I am going to try to knock off early Friday and swap the canister and then the drive to the dyno Saturday (60ish miles)... should tell me one way or the other. I will keep you guys posted for sure!

I'm guessing the one that shakes more (like a new water filter) is going to be the better one, but not really sure. Maybe you can bribe someone to unbolt theirs that is good and shake it

Well, I figured I would unbolt mine and shake it. Whatever mine sounds like I will install the opposite.
And they say I am dumb...

Ok. Back from the dyno. Came up a little short of my estimate but had fun. I did find something very, very odd however and could use help.
When I started I had base fuel pressure set at 40ish (maybe 42) with the vacuum disconnected. I then made my first pass and my AFR was around 14.8. Cut the run short and the tech asked me to bump pressure. Since it was a dyno day (full of ricers) and I was rushed, I just cranked the pressure about 3/4 turn and we ran again (didn't check the pressure, just screwed it a bit and ran again). He cut that one short too and asked me to bump it again. I made another turn or so and we made the pass you will see below. He said that'd be about all he'd bump it. If I had to guess (slammed with work - didn't have time to look yet) I would say I am back at 52+psi with the vacuum disconnected and it yielded the 13.7 AFR you see below. Why? I should be WAY more rich than this. I have replaced the pump, the O2 sensors, the FPR... Am I really out of injector? From what I hear I should be fine with these stock 19#'s for a while, no? I would love to step them up to 24#'s (I have a friend that is gonna kill me if I don't he is so convince I need to!). The drive home was great though, it felt great. Remember I mentioned I felt down on power after lowering the psi? Well, I was right. I could tell it ran like it used to now with the psi up so damn high. I have posted (hopefully it works!) the baseline dyno day from 8-13-11 and then today's dyno run. Any input and info would be appreciated guys! Baseline 8-13-11 ![]() Today's Dyno Day

I would be more interested to see what your fuel pressure is doing while running. Do you have a gauge on it at all times? Or can you throw one on the test port while it's running with the vac line on and observe what it's doing while you give it bursts of throttle while in park. It should raise once vacuum drops off. I'm almost wondering if you have a vac issue, or for some reason are not able to hold pressure, and turning the pressure up is the only way that you can get enough pressure in the rails to supply enough fuel through the injectors. I had a similar issue with having a vac leak which didn't pull the diaphram in on the FPR like it should have thus me having to have higher pressure at all times to make up for it not being able to spike it, but I think I found the problem, but haven't run the car since to be certain. I would look into starting to check out the fuel system a little closer. You really don't need any larger injectors yet. People have done 280whp on 19's before. Congrats on the numbers though, that was a respectable gain, and it shows people that 'advertised numbers' are false in most circumstances, though I'm sure you realize I am NOT IN ANY WAY saying that you believing them!

When I installed the FPR I removed the Schraeder valve on the rail and installed a cheap Summit gauge to dial the pressure in. Didn't have the money to install an interior gauge so this worked for now.
I am quite concerned about the AFR being so lean, especially with my hyper pistons. This is very disturbing actually... and is my main focus right now. I checked and I am at 41psi with the vacuum line connected to the FPR and 49 with it unplugged. This would lead me to believe there is no vacuum leak near the FPR since there is a reading difference - pulled vs. plugged in. Agreed? I did however find a mystery vacuum line that is not attached to anything on both ends. It runs along the firewall, up high near the brake lines and just terminates (cut or something by somebody) on each end. I have attached photos of each end. I see no possible place either end could plug in to. And I have sure looked! One end of mystery line: ![]() Other end of mystery line: ![]() I also took a picture of the vacuum distribution connector to show a repair I did several months ago (before the issue I am sure) of two white vacuum lines that I found. They were both broken when I found it and this seemed like the way they each bent and where they wanted to go. This seem right to everyone one else in the class? Vacuum line showing patches (repairs) and where the line leads: ![]() I really do think however that there is an underlying issue causing the lean condition. I installed the vacuum canister (Thanks Fast!) while I was at it and will see tomorrow if that helps the smell - although again I don't care about that as much right now. For the record, mine looked a lot worse that the new one, so maybe it'll help the smell...? What is the root cause of this lean condition? 49psi unplugged is crazy high to be running lean! Help guys!

The only line I know of that looks like that is the one that goes to the 't' under your hand in the pic. Looks like someone must have replaced that with something else. I'm at a loss for now with theories... I'll think on it for a while, and maybe one of us will come up with something. Not much the pc controls at WOT as far as the a/f is concerned
