Found my problem I think
Ok I had a idle issue for a while. No high idle in the mornings either, if I drove it and came up to a light it would idle good for a little bit then start to idle like shit. I tried it all idle reset timing and still nothing. So today sprayed carb cleaner and the top intake and it reved up so I thought I was the gasket. Took it off was cleaning it to put the new gasket and there was a crack on the upper intake :/ so my ? Is will a ported and polished upper and lower intake make a difference. I'm new to the 5.0 been use to diesels all my life. Thanks

If its a ported stock intake, then not really. You might gain a few horsepower but it's not worth the money. Just get a cobra or gt40 intake off Craigslist if you're looking for cheap power. I've seen gt40 intakes go for $150 on average on Craigslist. Cobras are a little more money but make literally almost the exact same power as the gt40. The cobra flows slightly more and usually go for anywhere between $200-$350 on Craigslist.

your intake is CRACKED........ but you want to PORT AND POLISH IT!?
I don't get the logic. ditch it in the garbage, and get a $200 typhoon intake, which will pick up more power then a ported stock intake ever would (unless you where to drop $1500 into it)
