Nah the 87 is the vert. I am not starting back on the 83.
The normal 83 was 185 at the crank i believe and the 93 was 205. 400 would be a nice upgrade =) |

Just food for thought info. In 93 they changed how they rated the motor, so it really isn't any different than 89-92 except for a few tiny changes that didn't really matter as I've read it.

Theoretically, they say they were just a tad quicker due to not having the restriction of the mass air meter, but who knows

What kind of exhaust? I'm not too sure you're gonna hit 400 at the fly with that combo.

From what I read on wiki the 90-90 was 20hp less. 8-89 was 225 and 90-93 was 205. The exhaust is mac headers with full flowmasters. |

Cam and heads seem like a decent match. I'd say go with a 650 Holley or a Pro-Systems carb. Also, I wouldn't use the torqer intake either...On my local forum I can find used Victor Jr. intakes for 100$... If the motor is an original 83 piece, I'm pretty sure you don't have valve reliefs in those pistons. You'll need to flycut for that head/cam combo to make it work. Realistically, I can see 365hp with the parts listed. If you have good exhaust (need to know the diameter) and a Victor Jr. ~390hp is more doable.

How big are the headers? Ditch the Flows too..They're very restrictive. I'm getting rid of mine for that reason.
