Engine troubles?

Does your car have a cam position sensor? Cuz when mine went bad I had just started the car and it died then backfired right away and ran real doggy after that.

No... we don't have cam sensors.... Just curious as to why you're in our section trying to answer questions with silly answers. No offense, but you surely don't know much about our cars. Revert back to post #'s 4 and 8

i always look through the "new posts"...and im just tryin to help a guy out. obviously throughing out a couple guesses. no one else seems to be helpin him

I think that its awesome that your trying to help, that what this forum is all about

But at the same time, it really helps if you have a good idea how are cars work. Are cars are from the stone age, lol... we dont have cam and crank position sensors, so when you say to check those things...... the new guys dont know that they dont have them, end up waste a bunch or time asking quetions or starting new theads looking for and how to test sensors that they dont have... ya know what im saying... but again i do think its cool that your trying to help this guy out... my hat is off to you sir, thanks

yeah no problem. ive been in his shoes many time. and yes i dont know shit about the five o's i have a guy i work with one that has one though.a 91 lx. and i asked if it had a cam sensor first. thats why i asked. i didnt think it had one

so i tested the batt now after throwing a new pigtail on the altonator and the multimeter reads 12 volts while running, i think its fixed!

Like ryan said, should be about 14 volts when running

AVR test, put a load on the battery and c if the alternator charges it with proper amount of amperage.

I've had one for years and also a Lincoln with a similar 4.6 and I'm still lost with them.
