Nothing goes in the thermostat housing, i believe you have an after market housing, if you ever install an electric fan, you can plug a thermostat for the fan control there.

And about your problem ,Check your fuel pressure

Before we rules out fuel pressure.... as being the cause or part of the issue...

What did the gauge read, you should get about 39 psi with vacuum line disconcted from the fuel pressure reg.

Kinda sounds like a maf sensor issue? Try cleaning it with maf cleaner from parts store.

Starter is actually new, most everything is from the build, and a dirty maf sensor? what would this do if dirty?

i had trouble with the idle going from 200 to 1200 rpm i cleaned the IAC valve it worked for abit then i just ended up buying a new one and i havent had the problem since. but i didnt have the back fire problem that could be a faulty O2 sensor.

You may have to have a safety torch bit to get maf sensor off. Not sure though. Mine does but it's an 01

Dude, if you have a voltage issue, then it's nothing with your sensors. Check all your power connections and ground connections. If everything looks good there, then take your alternator to a different place to get checked. Sometimes the kids at autozone don't know what they are doing.
