GT Convertible going truly topless? 2 part question

I'm toying with the idea of taking the top off for good. Has anyone ever done this? I didn't see a lot of info online but I'm mildly retarded (hence the gigantic pecker) so I could have been using the wrong wording.

I'm also wondering if anyone ever made a "hard boot" to cover the top? I hate the vinyl cover and would like something with a little more substance.

I've actually thought about this a lot.

I would've done it already if I could've sourced a removable hardtop, but NO ONE makes one for the foxbody.

I also looked into the idea of doing a Carson top, but wasn't really sure how to mount it in the rear. I could make it somehow attach to my rollbar, but that still seemed hokey.

I was going to make a custom fiberglass plate for the gap between the back of the rear seat and the front of the trunklid, and mount it using the plate that holds the bottom of the rear window.
