GT40P swap
ok i had some recent threads on cheap bolt ons but i decided to just give up trying to find cheap hp. so i decided to just do a cheap head swap. ok my idea was some gt40p heads fully rebuilt and valve work, (im still waiting on the quote on that). i was looking at a Compcams k kit that ive heard some good reviews about. that providing the new springs, some Scorpian 1.6 rockers, the cam in the k kit has a .512 lift, 230* so it all works there. MSD distributor gear, and the timing chain. Explorer intake ported and polished, 24# injectors, 70mm TB & EGR, 1 inch intake spacer, and a proM MAF all on the stock bottom end. Yes its over what i should spend but it will be well worth it for me. oh and 4.10 gears cant forget them.
GT40P heads rebuilt & valve work, port/polish CompCams k kit (cam, springs & hardware, timing chain) scorpian 1.6 rockers 24# injectors exploer intake ported & polished w/ 1'' intake spacer BBK 70mm TB & EGR ProM 75mm MAF MSD distributor gear good setup for an easy 300 horsepower? |

After you get the quote for doing the gt40 heads post up what it will cost before you buy and do the work. Cuz used trick flow heads can be had for around 800, so if the cost of the gt40 stuff is any where near that number, then id skip it and pay a few more bucks to have a better head. Just my opinion though

Honestly, if you're dead set on a pair of GT40ps, go with the Thumper heads http://www.hunterstyle.com/thumper/ He does great work on them for a reasonable price (considering they're ready to bolt on).
BUT, if you're not dead set on them, I would consider Trick Flow 170cc twisted wedge heads for your car. Used, they can be had for 700-900$. They also have more potential and you will have room to grow with them.

It'll make 300 ish at the flywheel.
My gt40 combo with tfs1 cam made about 275whp. Right around where it should be. But I got bored of that shit too quick and ended up doing the stroker and aluminum heads. Save up a little longer and just do the trickflow heads. You'll be much happier with the results.
