^^^^yes. it has done it ever sense i got the car. the last time i posted about it was prolly a year ago or so.i got the car from an old freind that buy, and sells alot of cars and harlys. when he bought the car it wouldnt start. they replaced the fuel filter and pump. i live off a curvy road. it has a narlly S turn down the road. i would hit that turn and the car would cut out. so, i'd go to the station , but the car would only take about 6-7 gallons of fuel. the guage does not work either. i doint drive the car that much so i allways just filled it up whenever i drove it. i bought a zex wet kit that i have been scared to install until this problem is fixed. it would also cut out if the fuel was low on a hard luanch, and that would be a bad thing on the spray.i bought an extra fuel tank for $40 bucks abot 3 months ago because i had read about the baffles breaking loose. i decided to go ahead and drop the tank yesterday. first fucked up thing i see is the last guy cut the harness for the pump and sending unit and wired it back with fucking house wire nuts! i got the tank down . put it up un the tailgate of my truck to drain out the 12 gallons of fuel still in it. i didnt see any baffle in the tank! after i got most of the fuel out i tilted the tank a bit and their it was. it floated down from the other side along with the float, the float arm, and the sock !
also after closer inspection of the other tank i have. one side of the baffle in it had allready broke loose wtf! i took a stick to push the baffle down and ran a couple of sheet metal screws through the bottom of the tank into the tab on the baffle that should be tack welded inside. sanded the area down and jb welded the shit out of it! i got a mew fuel sending unit coming from LMR, and the pigtail for the walbro coming from APC. both are in texas so it will be abot three days. i also had o'rileys order in some electrical conectors. i'll be getting them this morning to fix the wireing with something other than fucking wire nuts!!!

That's unbelievable dude. Wire nuts? I wish you could find that guy and kick him in the balls and thank him for nearly killing you. That is a little tiny short away from an explosion. What a dick!

On the upside, congrats for finding the problem. It may suck, but at least you know wtf is wrong!

Good luck and keep us posted! Pics please as well.

Wire nuts...... WOW. Hell, as an electrician, I would never do that! Although, my Abaco maf pigtail is wire nut'd right now cuz I just wanted to try it out! I'll solder it before it gets any road use though, lol. Vibration and wire nuts sometimes aren't a good mix, hahahhahaha.

ok, so here are some pics first one the filler neck

now for the wire nuts!!

now here is what you should see when you look into the tank (doint mind the orange liquid, its acetone eating the little bit of varnish that was in the tank)

and this is what you doint want to see

had to get two sets of electrical conectors and some butt conectors to fix the harness

needed two of those. i'm still waiting on the pigtail for the walbro to get here.

more f--king problems! the walbro woint fit in the hanger! insted of a flat washer-like bottom of the hanger its more like a cup at the bottom for the pump to sit in. it's about 3/4 inch deep and the walbro is a ****-hair fatter. cut ,chop, reweld time! lol! screw spending another 90 bucks! i took a screwdriver and beet the welds off. i'm going to cut it down to the thickness of the rubber isolator and weld that bich back on! this shit is starting to really piss me off, but atleast i think i can re-engineer this prick. i'll try to take some pics latter my i-phone is in the middle of a re-boot right now and i have a b day party for an employe's daughter to go to in a bit.
