death of a dream

man, of all the crap ive been through to build this car, and get it on the road.. what would be the thing to bring it down? a sway bar.
a 351 swap causes a few different problems in fitting, with the headders and the hood clearance.. well i found another one. my front sump drain plug was smashed into the oil pan by the sway bar. im still trying to figure out how, but in less than 24hrs i lost almost all of the oil in the engine. its gotten too frustrating, so in three weeks when i leave for afghanistan, its going up for sale. but just a note and a warning to all you who wish to do a 351W swap.

Dress light, its pretty darn hottttttt over here right now. Save all that tax free money when you get here and build that pony right when you get back. I made the mistake of selling mine when I came over, now I gotta find a new one.

Do not give up on your dream!! I have a 1992 GT that I have been holding onto that did not work out like I wanted to when I first started out. I threw too much money into it, got married and had a child, and bought a house. I have let it sit for 8 years knowing that one day I would have the funds to start back working on it. I am currently in Iraq working for a contractor and I cannot wait to get back to working on my car. I told my wife that the only selfish thing that I am going to do is finish my masterpiece!! I will complete 2 years in Iraq on Jan 08, I will work until May to bankroll the project!! I say all this to say: don't give up on it if you are not ready too. You will have plenty time to research what you want to do and create a dream list.

Stay safe !!

the wonderful thing about being me at the moment, is uncle sam is willing to give me $43,500 for reenlisting into the marine corps. tax free i might add for doing it in a combat zone. while most of that will go into savings for my retirement... im going to start from scratch next year. new engine, new chassis... and see if i cant get this right. ive already had an offer for the chassis from a friend of mine with a 426cj. i just laughed when he said what he wanted it for. but i wish him luck. thanks for all your well wishes and advice. you guys are awesome.

6332, harrier o-level avoinics mech

reenlisting is a personal choice. i love the marine corps, i dont love politics,
i love getting my hands dirty, i love leading and teaching junior marines, i love deployments, and it just so happens that the CMC authorised my rank at my mos to recieve $43,500 for committing for another 4 years. hell, its already been five.

its not for everyone but something we should all take note of, is not to discourage others. you never know, when i hit my three year mark, i was all about getting out. hell, even when i hit my four year mark i was all about getting out. 6 months later, im getting ready to deploy again, and ive changed my mind. theres never any telling. youve got time left.
