How heavy is a 9" rear
Does anybody know how much heavier the 9" rear assembly is as compared to the 8.8?
I had a 7.5 and got a 9" for the same price as I could have bought an 8.8. I suppose the lighter rear would be a little quicker but as I continue to build bigger and better the extra weight won't matter as much. jjg

you could save some weight(around 30lbs) on your 9'' by using a aluminum 3rd member.you could save 4 more lbs with a lightened ring
& pinion

Unless you are making big power a 9" is a waste. Heavy and takes more horsepower to operate than an 8.8.
