Drive shaft safety loop location

How far behind the universal should the drive shaft safety loop be placed?

I'd suggest following the recommendations by the manufacturer.

If there are none, then between 2-12" from the transmission side u joint. Pick a spot where you get the most clearance and remember that your axle moves up and down and in an out a little bit with the rear end.

Thanks.
I have the Summit house brand and I lost the instructions. Several other models they sell call for roughly 4-6 in. I'll see if I can find a compatible spot in that range.

NHRA requires the loop to be within 6-inches of the front u-joint.

mount it between your jaw and your shoulders and bolt it to your seat.

Is there a particular brand loop that fits better than the rest on a 93 Coupe? Per NHRA rules does it have to be bolt-on or weld-on? Or does it matter?
