Is it ok to run MSD 8.5 wires on a completely stock 5.0?

I have a completely stock 1993 5.0 engine that I am running in my 1993 Mazda Miata. I am just starting to modify it and I bought some MSD 8.5 wires and want to kow if its ok to run these if the rest of the system is stock or do I need to wait until I update all of the system?
