IAT and MAT sensors?

alright i have an 88 mustang gt 5.0 just put a new engine in it and i did it to the nines the cam i put in it needs a chip, now i got the chip and it is suppost to tie into one of those sensors but i cant find either one of them, i have been told that they should be located on the air filter plumbing somwhere but unfortunetly it is not and neither is the mass air flow sensor does any one know where i could find either one of those sensors?

You are probably going to want to be a little more clear in your description. I'm guessing you mean MAF (mass air flow) and IAC (idle air control)? If that is what you are talking about the MAF is located on the tube that goes between the intake and the airbox. The IAC is located on the throttlebody and it looks like a little solenoid thats bolted on the side.

What kind of chip did you get and what do you mean by "it has to tie into one of the sensors"?

Actually wait... 88 should be speed density right? If thats the case you wouldnt have a MAF. So maybe MAP? if thats it, that would be on the firewall near the middle if I remember right.

Try the intake tube or the manifold. IAT/MAT=intake air temp/manifold air temp. On a MAF vehicle it is usually right behind the MAF in the tube. It might be in the manifold on a speed density because I think its also called the ACT-air charge temp sensor. Your basically going to change the voltage output to fool the comp into feeding more fuel I believe.

alright yes my car does have a map sensor apparently that is a different system which does not require a mass air flow sensor or intake temperature sensor. the chip i ordered is wrong, the reason i got it is because i bought a 276hr comp cam and this car requires fuel and air adjustment Does ANYONE know what chip i need for this cam ?????????
