If you have the motor bored, you will need new pistons, might as well get the whole rotating assembly....You could keep everything else stock if you wanted to, but dont have too obviously, A new top end kit (trick flow makes good stuff) would suit your 306 well...exhaust, gears, good sticky tires, suspension....I could go on forever.

I would suggest a 331 stroker kit. The 347 causes a lot piston rock in the cylinder walls due to the extreme angle of the rod. This can cause early excessive wear and damage to the rings over time. The 331 has a decent displacement and has a good rod to piston to ratio so it does not have the rocking of the piston like the 347 does. Ronnie Crawford out of Florida made the 347 famous, there are quite a few daily drivers out there with 347's in them. In my opionion I would go for the 331. Call DSS, Coast High Performance, Kuntz Co. and ask the experts. Once you advise them of what you intend to do with the car they can recommend the best one for you. These forums are great but nothing can subsitute advice from the experts, the people buidling these kits day in and day out. They are helpful and do not mind discussing what will be more dependable based on your needs. Good luck.

Im runnig a coast high performance 347, and have no complaints. I called them myself about a 331 and decided on the 347. Smog legal at that! If you have the funds its well worth it.

Definitly just go with the 331 stroker the 347 has such a long stroke that it just isnt practical for the road.

I know more guys with 347s than 331s, and they are all daily driven...16 more cubes for the same amount of money...I am going 347 for sure.
