Exhaust Dumps

I have a full exhaust on my car and sounds real good, but I'm a big fan of them dump style exhaust systems and I was wondering if I just cut the pipe after the muffler and get the the dump style tips on the ends of the mufflers will it make it sound like that deep drone that them dump exhaust give?

i pulled the tips off at the mufflers on my cobra. I have an x pipe with cats, flow master 1 chamber mufflers. Holy hell was it deep and just screamed. I put the tips back on b/c it was drawing too much attention. there was some droning around 2000-2500. though sat full throttle man was it awesome and the echo between buildings was def giving me a full bone. haha

There is no difference in you adding your own turn down piece pipe and a "dump" exhaust. I made some turn downs before by cutting a curved part of an old 2.5 inch tail pipe. It worked great. How loud and how deep it is will depend on your muffler. If you make your own or buy some, make sure the exhaust is not blowing on the gas tank.

I got rid of mine to. It was cool for about two weeks. Even with cats and my car passes emissions, it still sucked sitting at a red light and was too loud.

To each his own man. It will stink the place up a bit but some people don't seem to mind and enjoy the sleepy feeling at the red lights.

Mine were clamped on, when i got sick of them, I clamped the tial pipes back on. Easy to switch back and forth. In your pic above, I don't think tail pipes would ever be an option.
