its supposed to do that to an extent, but it sounds like your idle is still set a little too high.

cool. it should be no problem then to get the idle down to 672rpm, which BTW is the target rpm for the ECM. anytime you set the idle higher than that you will have idle instability issues because the ECM will "fight" to lower it. if it won't idle at 672 with a mild cam there are likely other problems that need to be addressed. timing comes to mind, but also vacuum leaks and issues with EFI components could cause that effect.

I'm having the same rolling idling issue with my 94 Cobra. What EFI components could cause this effect? Also, because of the cam, I don't think I can set the idle below 800 rpm without it running really rough.

Also, when I start the car when it is cold, it surges violently for about a minute. When the car is all warmed up when I start it, it doesn't surge.. The dude I bought the car from said it has a "closed circuit tune," or something to that effect and it will do that. Does this sound right? The cobra is pretty heavily modified.

other than that, the car runs really well.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

its supposed to idle a lil higher till you stop, keeps vacuum high enough so ur brakes keep working and so the car wont die, my 93 does it, my 94 did it

It's really supposed to idle around 11-1,200 rpm until a complete stop? Just seems kinda high.

thats what mine does but it idles kinda high normally so the increase is just based off that, since ive put my cam n shit it doesnt really idle higher when ur slowing down and you can feel the pedal get firmer under ur foot and its harder to brake

they all have the wierd idle coming up to a stop.. when mine is stopped it idles flawlessly(after i did the idle reset) at about 650rpms,. now if im coasting to a stop it will not be at 650 it be around 900 ish, with a slight fluctuation.
