engine block

i just bought a 91 gt and the guy that built the car said it had the block out of a 69 or 70 mustang. is there a power handling differance between the older blocks and the block that should have come in the car. if so about how much?

Darrell would probably know better than I, I think he is running a retro block, but basically the blocks are somewhat stronger, there will always be an issue with main cap flex though on the two bolt main blocks regardless of age. That inevitably is the weak link.

it should also be a flat tappet cam now instead of a roller, unless he did the conversion

Did he say whether it was a four bolt or two bolt? The Boss engine was out in '69 & '70.

Doesn't appear as though he had. That is why I made the caviat about two bolt mains. If it is an original boss then FTW
