how do u no when the motor mounts are gone,,
in my 89 gt whenever i pull of i have to kinda rev it up highier than usual so that it wont vibrate and i can feel the car vibrate whenever it is in low gear, at around 1200 rpm in any gear

Pop the hood, set the e-brake and put the car in gear. Give it a bit of gas (not enough to spin the tires, just enough to put a little torque on the motor) Do this in 1st and reverse. If the motor raises up on either side that mount would be bad. It will only move a bit if theyre good but will lift if one is broken.

Replace them. Those stress cracks are where the rubber will pull apart.

No you don't have to remove the trans. to replace them.

Loosen them some and Jack the enigne up and then remove and replace the mounts.
I loosen the nut first then jack up. Once up enough then I remove the 2 screws on the ends and slide it out.
