Stock heads are pedestal mount, not stud, I believe.

What mods do you currently have? On a stock motor without cam, heads, intake mods, you definitely dont need RR's.

Have you gotten your learn on about this topic, Tony? I was wondering about doing some roller rocker myself but I didn't know how much of a benefit that would be. GT40P + E303 + Performer intake, keeping them pedestal mount.

P.S. Sucks you changed your sig while I was gone. The Rich Christensen quotes pwns all.

Here is what i am getting ready to throw on my car...

Ported GT40 heads
Ported Cobra lower intake
Ported Explored upper intake
FMS B303 Cam
Crane 1.7 Ped. mount rockers

i have been reading up on valvetrain geometry, and let me tell you, it sounds hard as hell to get it right...But lucky for me, i know alot of guys here locally that can help me out.
Alot of adjusting, you might need longer pushrods, but i think my stock length will work for me.

Sorry guys, I fail at posting.

Anyways Tony, you're not concerned with PTV clearance?

And what would you need the long pushrods for? Are you referring to a specific application or what?

You should always check for PTV, am i going to check? YES...Am i worried, NO...

Alot of people have done the same combo, nobody i have talked to has had clearance issues, but that doesnt mean i am not going to check.

Somebody told me i might need longer pushrods because the heads are different, but then somebody else told me to use my stock pushrods. So i dont know? lol

I have heard about people putting on rockers and gaining 5 HP on a stock motor...To me, 5 HP just isnt enough for the work. Personally, i would wait on heads and cam.

Put some gears in your car if you dont have them already. That will give you something you can feel.

I'd do like Tony said and wait on the heads and cam and do it all at the same time. You won't gain anything noticeable by switching to rr's with stock heads. You might gain some valve slap because the springs are not strong enough to keep the rocker planted on the valve. I could be wrong about that though. I thought 1.7's were for smaller cams to give them extra lift to match 1.6's. If that's the case I would think the rods would need to be shorter if you have a decent cam. No?? Anyways' too easy to figure it out when you get it together. If I can ever get passed picking the right tires in my performance book, I could get to learn some of this stuff. I hate to read though, needs more pics.

You could be right about the pushrods...I have read and read and read about valvetrain geometry and i still feel like a complete idiot! lol

I hope my stock pushrods will work fine.
