tps settings

i've read this on a few sites is it true

To get the most performance out of your Mustang, check the setting of the throttle position sensor(located on the top of the throttle body). Accurate adjustment will provide smooth idle and improved acceleration. Using a digital volt meter or a multi meter with the ignition key in the "on" position; but with the engine off, voltage should read between .997-.999 or 1.1 to 1.25 for supercharged cars (the green and black wires are the ones to test). Adjust (elongate the slots if necessary, I had to drill the slot slightly to allow proper positioning) the sensor to obtain proper setting by loosening the mounting screws and moving the sensor side to side

The TPS is not actually adjustable. The holes are shaped like that to ease installation. It should be between .6 and 1.1 for closed throttle. it doesn't matter if it is .6 or .98 because the eec will zero it out for closed throttle. The eec then kicks in part throttle at .04 volts over closed throttle and WOT kicks on at 2.71 volts above closed throttle. I say it is not adjustable for a factory TB but some aftermarkets you might need to improvise to get it to that range. If you have to elongate the holes on a stock TB the thing is probably bad. Thanks Tengram.
