hey there people...i was just wondering how much my motor can handle im pretty sure it will be alright but i would just like some comfirmation...i have a 347 stroker CHP short block with probe forged pistons forged rods and cast steel crank shaft..TF top end 75mm TB and 30# injectors..i am in the process of installing a NOS wet kit with purge and everything and my question is what do you all(who have experience in this area) think the max HP shot of NOS should i use i was planning on only going up to 200 do you think thats alright?

Depends on your current hp level, Prolly 200 max. dont exeed 500hp total engine hp with a production block.

Well, I'd think you're about at the end of the 5.0 window. I Bootsy(?) said, going over 500hp is asking for it. I can't think of hearing about any sprayed 347.

Um. . .ask CHP?

put the 100 shot on there and get the bitch tuned...Better hope it's not running lean...Personally, i would get a better block before i put nitrous on a 450 HP all motor production block...Get a nice Dart or ManOWar and NEVER buy another block. Some say the CHP blocks are stronger but i dont think so.

He said he has a 347 kit not a crate motor like I have from CHP. They use regular blocks for their 347 Street Fighter crate motor.. A 200 shot will really be pushing the block to the limit. I would not go over 125hp maybe 150hp at the most but you are takin a chance with the 150 shot.. Another thing with the nitrous you are really maxing out those 30lb injectors.. I hope you also have an inline booster pump..

also, main studs and girdles cant stop a block from splitting, they just keep your caps from walking

Maxing out the injectors on a wet kit???

No such thing, try again...

I say spray two stages at it 125 out of the hole with another 200 coming on before the 330 ft mark. If you blow it up, then you know you really needed a 351w. If it holds together, it'll be one hell of a ride.

oops I missed that he said he had a wet kit. He still should get the booster pump and not listen to what you said about how much he should spray..

You also might want to check ring endgap... Good rule of thumb is about .005-.006 per inch of bore on a nitrous motor.

just stick the main line from the bottle in your intake tube and turn the bottle on, then at the 330' do the same with another bottle. you should be good then.
