wierd clunking noise from right rear
hey guys i just joined the site and i need some help. i have a 93 mustang gt. i replaced the upper and lower control arms with the bbk upper and lowers in the summer and just recently i got a clunking noise from the right rear. it happens when i reverse up a slight hill and when i accelerate a little. i can also feel a slight shift from the right rear when the noise occurs. any ideas on what it is??? if possible, if you guys have pics thats even better ....thanks!! ... mike

Welcome to the site Mike. Check everything new or not. Check the shock bushings. Quad shocks?? If so check the quad shock bushings. Check for loose hardware, missing hardware, or even torn torque boxes. Good luck.

stockm bolts
did you get the bolts for the the lower comtrol arms from the ford dealer because when i replaced my rearend in my car i put some bolts from the hardware store in them and they ended up being a little bit to small so now when i let the clutch out it rocks the rearend forwars and makes a weird clunk i am not saying that is what it is but i would check that if you did not get the bolts from ford

usually when a torque box goes its the drivers side rear. for some strange reason this seemed to be true with almost all of the ones i've repaired. it sounds like you' ve got a bad bushing somewhere or lose hardware. if you're plannin on driven hard then you should get the local weld guy to weld up the torque boxes. if you are modded they WILL fail !!!!!!!!
