Could be several things. Make sure your mass air sensor isnt dirty. Whatever you do, dont touch it! Spray it with brake cleaner and let it air dry. Could be a bad ignition switch under the column which is pretty inexpensive and easy to change. Could be a dirty fuel filter. Does it have the check engine light on?

Here's a list of causes (not saying its a complete list, but its the book list). Ignition system-Electrical connectors, secondary wires, coil, ignition module, rotor alignment, cap, stator, fouled plugs, ignition switch, ballast resistor; EGR valve; Fuel delivery-filter, pump, contamination, fuel lines, sender filter, idle air flow, inertia switch, anti theft, injectors, fuel pressure regulator; Exhaust restricted; EEC-processor and calibration assy, quick test; basic engine-camshaft timing, valve train. Man there really is a lot it could be. I'd start with the quick test, ie. check for codes.
