dashboard swap 86 to 87 to 93

hey i was wondering what i would need to do a dashboard swap to my 86 mustang the dashboards messed up i got my old cars 90 dashboard and gauge cluster i was wondering on the wiring what would i need let me know thanks

it should fit right in, needs some minor modding and needs the original mounting hardware for it

I think you have to change out the HVAC box also because of having differant HVAC controls. Also you pretty much need an entire 87-93 harness because the 2 pigtails that plug in to your 86 cluster arent wired for the 87+ cluster. Unless you have wiring diagrams of both cars and want to do some splicing.
Plus the dimmer switch for the dash lights and the headlight switch are totally differant. Just saying all this, because I helped a buddy do the same exact swap and we done it this way it was the quickest and easiest. on another note. you will need the matching console obviously. and if you do use the later harness, you will have to swap the wiper motor out to a 87-93 wiper motor. Thats all I can think of right off the top of my head right now.

most of these older dash do. mine is ok, its just the pad on mine i gotta work on.
