hesitation


so my 93 gt is bein a jerk...i think its cuz i just inhereted a 68 chevelle.....
anyway theres a hesitation from idle if i slam the gas and if i just barely touch the gas theres this high pitched whine....im hearing it like either in the throttle body or in the upper intake....an yhelp is much appreciated

did you try cleaning the throttle body, your intake could of suck something up there, and if it did you dont want it going any further.

is there a special spray or cleaner for the tb? and im not exactly sure what the egr spacer is...

sounds like a vacum leak to me, spray some TB or carb cleaner around the intake and listen for the engine to pick up a few RPMs.

Yeah, I've heard of the EGR spacers leaking coolant into the intake. Also a vacuum leak anywhere could cause this problem. Get a vacuum gauge and check the vacuum. Should be above 15 in Hg and it should get higher if you hold the rpms around 2500-3000 in neutral. Also look around and inside the throttle body area for debris or coolant.

ha its the aluminum block between your throttle body and your intake manifold...you might not have one

Some throttle bodies make the whine and there really isnt anything you can do about it...what brand throttle body do you have?
