Stutter under acceleration

I recently purchased a 89' GT Convertible and it has a stutter, (not really a miss) under acceleration. It has been converted to Mass Air. I pulled the codes and it came back as a 33 which is a egr, I just want your input. The cap, wires, rotor and plugs are new. Thanks

take the egr off and clean it with carb cleaner. clear codes by disconnecting the battery and recheck codes. if it comes back you may need to replace the egr valve position sensor, or further testing can be done to confirm it as the culprit. there are some good write-ups on diagnosing this that can be found here http://www.my5oh.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=211 but you will have to register as a member to see that thread.

I finally found time to work on the car again!! I removed and replaced the complete upper manifold from a car that ran fine. Still having a problem with it stuttering. Where should the timing be set on the car? I have it at 10 degrees now. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Yes I removed the egr, cleaned it and replaced it. It seems that the stutter becomes more pronounced when the car gets warm and still no check engine light. Thanks for the help

The parts stores strike again. I started digging more into my sttutering problem and found that one of my NEW spark plugs had a crack in it and was allowing the plug wire to jump arc when it was under a load. Thanks for the assistance. GOOSE
