AOD to Tremec 3550 Conversion Question

We are getting ready to try to fire my 2.3 to 5.0 conversion, we just need to tie up a few odds and ends first. The donor car was an AOD, but we put a Tremec 3550 in. We didn't hook any wiring up at the trans yet, since I don't have the harness. I know it is for the neutral safety switch and backup lights. Since I have an AOD computer, the neutral safety switch will not be used, correct? Should it start and run without the backup light switch harness connected? If not, is there an easy way to jump it until I get one?

Thanks

it will but under the dash there is a harness that has a looped wire that needs to be plugged into the clutch before it will crank.

Your talking about the 2 connectors that plug into the switch at the top of the clutch pedal right? If so, those are plugged in and ready to go.

Thanks

Cool, I plan to be driving it by the end of the weekend. I started thinking about the backup light harness since that is the only thing I don't have yet, and wanted to make sure that wouldn't keep me from getting it going.

Thanks

I didn't realize that. I sold the AOD to my neighbor and left the harness on it. He hasn't paid me for the tranny yet, so it looks like I will have to go repo my harness tonight

i did the aod to 3550 ceoncersion in my car. the two wires on the tail shaft of the 3550 is neutral safety. on the aod harness you will see on the plug there is a wire jumped from one pin to the opther, snip it in the middle and connect the one wire from the tailshaft to one of the cut wires and the do the same with the other.
