Hey, im new to this forum so hello to all of ya.

Ive got an 1986 gt and right now its suffering of rediculously low traction in the rear. I have Yokohama AVS sport on it now but they are just too thin at 8 inches.

My question is how can I get some 10 or 9 inch wide wheels on the rear of this stang. I have been trying my hardest to look into this but its been hard given im in Iraq right now.

What size wheel do you have on there now, if you have 15's i would put a set of drag radials on it,you could probably do 17-9 with a 1/4 inch spacer as far as 17-10 i dont think they would fit.

Personally, I doubt an extra inch or 2 of width in the rear is gonna be helping out with traction. The tires as well as the suspension setup would make the biggest difference. Get some upper and lower control arms to start with if ya haven't done so already. I have 03/04 Cobra wheels that are 17x9's on the front and rear of mine but had to roll the fenders. Still have the stock quads on mine.....for now. Also, my tires (Nitto's) are 275/40R17's and I can't hook up to save my life. But better than stock wheels and tires. Wish I would've bought some MT's but I will next time. Wanna get me some 15 inch wheels as well so that the sidewalls flex a bit more and help to hookup.
