90 lx coupe mods

im new.

and im looking for the best mod for speed/hp for about $250, if there are any. cars pretty much stock other than exhaust, and some suspension work as far as i know.

i was thinking a cam or a cold air kit, but i heard a cold air kit doesnt give much hp.

this is my everyday driver, so im not looking for anything serious to drag.

any help is appreciated.

Welcome to site!! I would say the quickest and cheapest mod would be 3.73-4.10 gears and a K&N airfilter. That just IMO, it will not give you more hp but it will make quicker and you will feel it in the seat of your pants.

gears or headers. I like 3.73's because it won't be too horrible on gas and you will feel the difference.

Headers, maybe, but gears, I don't think you will get that done with 250 bucks. CAI and underdrive pulleys. You are right, you wont get a lot out of them, maybe 10-15 hp, but all this adds up when you have serious mod money. Or save another 250 and get the gears. Or see if its enough to ship the car to my house in Ga. That would be a good mod, too. Welcome to the site.

Well I live in Savannah, and hopefully will be back there on the 14th of August. Then taking two to three weeks off to build me a car or just relax.

Sweet, I love Savannah. My dad grew up there and his family is still there. River Street FTW and Tybee Island is my favorite place in the world. Ever come around Augusta with your stang..?

i did some checkin out on the car. it has headers, i counted it as part of the exhaust, it has underdrive pulleys, and im pretty sure it has 3.73 gears in it. and sending it to you in georgia, dont really see how thats helping me out. jk. thanks for the ideas though.

i was also looking into getting new rims. i want some cobra rims, but i cant afford them. i thought about getting some chrome ponies, but ive never seen em on another mustang. anyone got pics of what they look like on one?
