ghost problem

ok, my 90 gt starts when she wants. I replaced the battery yesterday and she started right up which is nice. well i drove her for a bit, and when i brought her back home, about 10 minutes later my dad takes her out for a spin. he gets gas, an she wont start back up. he kick starts with a push. he gets her home safe and sound, an hour later, i try to start her and no start, just a half ass turn over but no fire. this morning i go out to see what would happen, she started right up. i drove for about an hour and comesome, shut it off, then try to start up right away and again, just a half ass turnover and no fire. I went out a few hours later, it started right up, i shut it down, started up again, and no start. Then after about five minutes, she started up 5 consecutive times in a row, each getting weaker and weaker each time. This problem has been going on for a few weeks now, and i am aware of the fox body nightmare ignition. but im clueless as to what this is since im a total noob. any help would be excellent before i start replacing shit.

it seems as if it takes alot to start as well, sort of like the starter doesnot get enoght power, turned over very slow.

I used to have the same problem with my 5.0 Grand Marques.
Found out when the starter got a little hot it was really weak. Once it cooled down it was fine. I used to get stuck with it at times. A couple of times if I gave it a Jump start with Cables it would start. Other times I would have to wait till it cooled enough to start.

I was also thinking it sounds like a atarter problem. You may need to pull it off and have it rebuilt or buy a new one.

Its definitely the starter. If you get a new one, get one from a 93-95 Mustang or 96-99 5.0 Exploder. They come factory with a high torque starter. If your headers are getting your starter too hot, this would be a good time to wrap it with header wrap to keep it cool.
