torque converters
What is the difference between a LOCKUP and a NON lOCKUP torque converter, I am getting ready to buy a Lockup, but I noticed that there was also a non lockup. I need to know which one does what. I have a 90 5.0 LX, and the TC that I was looking at has a stall of 2000-2800. if you need more info about my car please respond. Thanks!

it depends on the number of shafts coming out of the transmission...if you have 3 shafts out of the transmission..then it is a lockup converter...if there are only 2 shafts then it is a non lockup converter...im pretty sure on the numbers as i had to buy one for my car ..
