Broke again..... So today I got alot of the small details on the car fixed..... Got the n20 controller mounted with a custom cover were the radio went, welds polished up, new race seat installed and a few other small things. All in all I was pretty happy with the car. So during the cruise between hangouts I decide to race myself to test out the new carb setup. I get into it in 3rd and powershifted into 4th. 4th hit hard as hell then it just fell on its face. Motor is still running... I don't hear any carnage. is going on? I start feeling around for gears in the Tremec 3550 , all the shift forks are still attached. So then I roll to a complete stop a mile and a half down the road and start looking to see if any of the gears are still together...... NothingI believe I just sheared my first hardened input shaft. I will find out for sure tomorrow. I was planning on pulling everything anyways to do a little maintenance to the bottom end. I'll post pics of the carnage tomorrow.

Man thats gotta suck. Like to see those pics. When you started, I was putting 351+t5=duh, but didn't know it was a 3550. It was a built tranny? If it was a standard 3550 it wasn't built for too much more power than the t5. I think 350 ft lbs for a standrard one. TKO 3550 would be somewhere in the 400's.

Currently the input shaft is a 10 spline and if everything works out I will be going to 26 spline with a new spec 3 clutch. If not i'll just throw another 10 spline in it from an tranny.

Hope that shaft works for you. You been talking to D&D or someone? At least it sounds like you got some power coming from the motor.

that looks like you brought it up to 5000rpms and dumped the clutch, i feel remorse for that input shaft.

Thats cool. I hope my motor can do that when I get it built. Well, maybe just once. That might get expensive. D&D has the shaft fro like 150-160. They should be able to tell you if the 26 spline will work.

Block is honed and ready for reassembly....... I'll start throwing it back together tomorrow and post some pics up. Now its time to order an input shaft.

Well I got a good deal on an Anderson High rev clutch so i'm gonna give that a try with a new input shaft coming in from D&D.
The motor should start going back together today, hopefully it will be back on the road by Saturday. More pics coming soon......

Well the motor is together....... I started on the tranny tonight but found that the input shaft seal that D&D sent was the wrong one..... hopefully this won't put me down for the whole weekend. It may be together tomorrow......
