how long do you think my 5.0 with 130,000 on it would last with a 6-8 psi charger on it, btw im doing a gt40 crate during the winter so as long as it gets me 4 or 5 months then

it will last 3 or 4 months for ya...good choice on that crate motor my brother ran a powerdyne charger through that with 6 psi and made 360 to the wheels

Its not really how many miles are on it that matters its more the condition of the motor and the tune. Properly done and tuned right that combo could last several years or more if the motors in good shape and maintained. However if the motor is in rough shape with bad rings, lots of blowby, etc, and you put boost to it that will aggravate any existing conditions.

I have a GT40 crate motor (the older one with the forged pistons). Just my opinion but is the GT40 crate motor really cost effective? Seems to me that a little shopping around would get you a nice new or rebuilt short or long block with a better set of heads for less money and have more potential. Just my .02. It would require a little leg work on your part and I can not put a value on your time.
That being said.. My GT40 crate has had no issues so far at 30K miles and about 10# boost other then some oil leaks which seems to happen over time with any boosted engine.
