Taurus/Sable fan for a 5.0?

This might be a duhhuh for some of you, but i've seen people selling fans out of the Sables/Taurus cars to put in a mustang. Is this true? I can get my hands on one for next to nothing.

Next year i'm going to get the Fluidyne setup, but if this can work for now, i'd love to do it.

thoughts?

The Taurus fan is very popular choice for anyone looking to convert to electric, specially the 4x4 crowd. Some people report that the two speed version can draw 35-40 amps in high so I'd make sure your wiring and alternator is able to safely handle that load.

+1 Also Mark VII's and sn95's make good donors. I would definitely look into upgrading the alt. They draw a lot more amps at start up and drop to 30-40, like nolife said, after it is running.

the FV35 controller at dccontrol.com is an awesome piece and will control that high amp draw on startup. It ramps the fan up as the engine gets hotter. I have it personally and I love it.
