Got the idle dialed in (video inside)

After countless hours of messing with this car to finally get it to idle right, I did it. Replaced almost every sensor to find out that the EGR vacuum solenoid on the strut tower is bad. Idle is rock solid at around 725-750rpm. Mods are shorties, O/R H-pipe, flowmaster catback, E cam, K&N cone filter, and 3.55 gears.

Thanks dude. I'll upload a video of it cold too. Sounds gnarly. I wish it would idle like it does cold all the time but I think it's too low rpm personally. I'm happy with it now. Way too much work lol

E cam. I might drop the idle a little bit to get it to idle like that warm, or close to that. It is gnarly as shit. Was messing with it tonight but it was too late to be running my car. Didnt want to get the cops called lol.

The idle screw under the throttle body. Gotta set the TPS voltage after every time you mess with the screw though and reset the computer.

Are you refering to the tad/ tab sensor just behind the shock tower.. near the fire wall on the passenger side or are you talking about those things that are on the rubber hoses coming off the smog pump ?

Did you figure out that it was bad by replacing it or by testing it. Im just curious cuz this could help out another member. Picture of the bad part would help to.

No it's the EGR vacuum solenoid on the shock tower above the TAB and TAD sensor. I got a code 33 for my EGR not opening properly but I just replaced the EGR valve. I unplugged the vacuum line from the EGR solenoid leading to the intake and plugged it. Ran perfect afterwards. So I replaced the solenoid and its perfect now.

The top solenoid. Got this picture off google.

I agree with this 100% even a stock one with light exhaust work sounds good.

Thanks! And I know it's so nasty! I'm in the process of lowering the idle as we speak. Waiting for the computer to reset. That cold idle is intimidating as fuck lol

Starts wanting to surge when I drop the idle down. So I'm gonna keep it up where it was. Sounds good either way lol

Congrats! Glad you figured it out. This is a perfect example of why it's so damn hard to near impossible to fix someone's car over the internet. What it takes is getting out there and trying shit til it's fixed. I wish I could watch the videos but they aren't working for me.
