leaky


is it normal for oil to come out when the back of the motor is leaning back does not leak when it is level thoe just wondering thanks

when i had it sitting at a angle / the oil just started dripping out but after i got it bolted in and sitting level it was fine but yes like it was on a hill front of the car poiting towards the top

Can you tell where on the engine the oil was coming from? Maybe oil pan gasket or rear main seal? Maybe the dipstick hole?

Well the down side to that is if you put the motor in and it does still leak, you may have to turn around and take it back out. That would suck! I would run it down before you put the motor in. Just a thought.

Rear main seals going bad are common in these cars...Locate the problem and fix it before putting back together.

If you dont fix it more than likely your screwed,worst thing you could do is hope that it wont leak.They dont leak for no reason and they dont fix there self.Do it right the first time where you dont have to go back and do it over again,you will be so mad if you have to pull the motor back out to put a new rear main in it.
